What data is stored
Tab Valet stores the following locally in Chrome's storage on your device:
- URLs and titles of parked tabs
- Page descriptions extracted from parked tab pages
- Page text captured at park time, used briefly to classify the tab into a theme for Groups view — discarded as soon as classification completes, whether it resolves instantly or via on-device AI
- A per-site "learned" theme mapping, built from your own repeat classifications, so future tabs from a site you've visited before sort instantly without needing AI again
- Your view preferences (comfortable/compact, list/groups, sort order)
- Trial start date and subscription status
- Lifetime count of tabs parked (used only for the trial stats display)
None of this data is ever transmitted to Tab Valet or any third party.
On-device AI classification
Groups view (AI Thematic Grouping) sorts most parked tabs into a folder instantly using a built-in lookup — no AI involved. For tabs it doesn't already recognize, Tab Valet uses Chrome's built-in local AI model (running entirely on your device) to read a short summary of the page and pick the best-fitting folder.
This on-device processing never sends page content anywhere — not to Tab Valet's servers, not to any third party. The page text used for classification is discarded immediately after a tab is categorized.
What is never collected
- Your browsing history
- Page content or text sent off your device, to us or anyone else
- Passwords or form data
- Your name, email, or any personal information
- IP address or location
Anonymous analytics
Tab Valet sends anonymous product analytics to PostHog to help improve the extension. These events are tied to a randomly generated device ID — not your identity. The events include things like "trial started" or "tab parked (count: 42)." No URLs, titles, or personal data are included in any event.

Payment processing
Payments are handled by ExtensionPay. Tab Valet never sees or stores your payment details. ExtensionPay communicates your subscription status (active or not) to the extension — nothing more.

How to delete your data
Delete everything (uninstall)
Uninstalling Tab Valet removes all locally stored data including parked tab history, preferences, and trial state. Go to chrome://extensions, find Tab Valet, and click Remove.
Note: archived tabs saved to your bookmarks are standard Chrome bookmarks and are not deleted when you uninstall. Remove them from your bookmarks manager if you want them gone.
Clear data without uninstalling
- Go to chrome://extensions
- Click Details on Tab Valet
- Click Extension options or find Clear data in the site data settings
